1. A personal passion project
My Books is created and offered by Jeremy Kreider, an individual based in Pennsylvania, as a personal passion project. It is developed by one individual with assistance from development tools, including AI tools. It is not a financial institution or a professional financial advisory service. 2. Agreement and permission to use
By selecting the agreement checkbox and clicking “Agree and download,” you agree to these Terms of Service with Jeremy Kreider. If you do not agree, do not download through this website. You receive permission to install and use My Books 11.1 free of charge for your own personal purposes. Ownership of the software is not transferred. Third-party components remain subject to their own licenses.
3. Information and entertainment only
My Books and this website are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only, including personal organization and budgeting experiments. They are not a substitute for a qualified financial adviser and do not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Use does not create an adviser-client or other professional relationship.
Balances, forecasts, payday predictions, bill dates, budgets, reminders, and goal estimates may be incomplete or inaccurate. Independently verify important information with your bank, employer, bill provider, or other authoritative source. Do not rely solely on My Books to make financial decisions, meet payment deadlines, or satisfy legal or tax obligations. No financial outcome is promised.
4. Security methods and their limits
My Books 11.1 is designed to keep personal profile information locally on your device. The implementation uses these measures:
- AES-256-GCM encryption for saved personal profile data and My Access vault contents.
- PBKDF2 with SHA-256, random salts, and 600,000 iterations for newly created password verification and password-derived encryption-key protection.
- A separately password-protected My Access vault, a recovery key, and temporary delays after repeated failed authentication attempts within the running app.
- Encryption for exported
.aasbackups using AES-GCM and a password-derived key.
These security methods and their implementation have not been independently tested, audited, or certified by a third-party security professional or organization. Development checks and use of established algorithms are not proof that the application is secure or free of vulnerabilities.
These measures do not encrypt your entire computer or every piece of app metadata, exported content, screenshot, or printed document. Information is accessible while unlocked. Malware, device access, weak or shared passwords, exposed recovery keys, and implementation defects can defeat protections. No guarantee is made against unauthorized access, data loss, corruption, or disclosure. Demo data is not a secure place for personal information.
5. Your information and backups
Use strong, unique passwords; secure your device; protect your recovery key; and keep separate, current backups. Verify imported data and saved changes. Do not assume lost passwords or damaged files can be recovered by the creator. You remain responsible for the accuracy of information you enter and for checking results before acting on them.
The desktop app's local profile storage is separate from this website. Website visits and installer downloads are handled by hosting providers, including Cloudflare and GitHub, which may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs under their own policies. If you email support, your message and email address are received by the creator and the email provider. Do not send passwords, recovery keys, or private financial records. This site's download confirmation does not create an account or send your checkbox response to an acceptance-record database.
6. No warranty or guaranteed support
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, My Books and this website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. Accuracy, security, uninterrupted operation, compatibility, and freedom from errors are not guaranteed. Updates, fixes, continued availability, and individual support are not promised.
7. Limits of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Jeremy Kreider will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from downloading, using, or being unable to use My Books or this website, including lost profits, missed payments, late fees, or loss or corruption of data.
This limitation applies only where legally permitted. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability or consumer right that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so some provisions may not apply to you.
8. Changes and applicable law
These terms apply to the download you accept under the version and date above. Future terms may be offered with future downloads; posting changes does not retroactively change an agreement you already accepted. Pennsylvania law governs to the extent permitted by applicable law, without depriving you of mandatory protections that apply where you live. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
